ATHLETICS

​Midwestern Christian Academy offers students the opportunity to participate in interscholastic athletics. Offering athletics at MCA fits with our educational philosophy of meeting the needs of the whole person, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially. The athletic program at MCA provides students with the ability to learn and grow in all four of these areas.  

MCA belongs to a league made up of other private schools of similar size in the city of Chicago. We provide teams for boys and girls volleyball in the fall, basketball in the winter, and in the spring of 2024 will begin offering students the opportunity to participate in organized track and field.  

Students in grades 4 through 8 are eligible to participate in athletics at MCA. Tryouts are not required, though students are expected to be committed to participating in practices and games, contributing to a sense of teamwork and community. In order to be eligible, students must be earning passing grades in all subject areas and a good disciplinary record.  

Students who desire to participate in athletics at MCA should respond to announcements about practice times and season dates sent to parents via email, or contact the school office.
